To help set clear expectations, we label our cars to designate warranty coverage.


Blue Dot cars are Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. These are the nicest used cars we sell and are reconditioned to the highest standards. Purchase of a Ford CPO vehicle includes extended warranty coverage and special financing from Ford Motor Credit (with approved credit). Ford CPO vehicles also include our eXtra! car comprehensive warranty.

Ravenel Ford eXtra! cars have a Green Dot and include our comprehensive eXtra! Car warranty. They are reconditioned to the highest standards and we stand behind almost every component. Extra cars are extra nice, have extra keys, owner's manuals and documented reconditioning. Extended coverage is also available from Ford ESP on most cars.

Yellow Dot cars include our power train limited warranty. These cars are serviceable quality used cars that due to age, mileage or non power train issues are ineligible for comprehensive coverage. We stand behind the engine, transmission and drive axles on these cars and many are eligible for extended warranty coverage from Ford ESP.

Red Dot cars are sold strictly as is. Red Dot car have as is prices. Although we may have reconditioned them and they may run fine, due to age, mileage or condition they have no warranty and the buyer assumes all risk on these vehicles.

Although many companies offer extended warranty coverage we feel that a genuine Ford warranty offers the best value. Only Ford has a vested interest in your long term satisfaction. Ford knows that if you have issues with your current vehicle how you are cared for will influence your next vehicle decision. Warranties are available on many vehicles up to ten years old and under 120,000 miles.

Along with our Green Dot eXtra! car warranty, Ford Motor Company provides the following Comprehensive Limited Warranty Coverage: Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicles come with a comprehensive limited warranty covering more than 500 components for 12 month or 12,000 miles from sale date. eXtra! Car Comprehensive

Used Car Warranty

Our Goal: Ravenel Ford has inspected and reconditions our eXtra! brand used cars extensively in an effort to provide our customers the highest quality transportation possible. We want our customers happy. During the warranty period, if we missed something or if one of our vehicles develops a problem that we missed or could not predict, we will absorb the cost of repair.


Specific Coverage: Ravenel Ford will repair or replace any original equipment mechanical or electrical component that fails to perform as manufactured. All repairs must be performed by Ravenel Ford or under special circumstances, by a repair facility approved in advance by Ravenel Ford. Towing charges up to $100 will also be paid when towing is necessary because a covered part has failed. Damage caused by; accidents, collision, misuse, improper fuels or fluids, environmental exposure or any damage that would be covered under your comprehensive insurance is not covered. Tires, glass, soft trim and upholstery along with the failure of any components not installed by the original manufacturer of the vehicle are also not covered.


Term: Coverage is for forty five days or fifteen hundred miles from purchase date and mileage.




Yellow Dot Power Train

Used Car Warranty

Our Goal: In an effort to keep the selling price reasonable, Ravenel Ford will provide warranty coverage on the drive train (engine, transmission and drive axles) components only on "Yellow Dot" vehicles. Yellow Dot vehicles have normal wear and tear and customers should expect uncompleted maintenance items and unrepaired cosmetic and mechanical damage. Customers are encouraged to carefully inspect all vehicle systems prior to completing a purchase. No after sale adjustments will be made other than as stated in the Yellow dot warranty.


Specific Coverage: Ravenel Ford will repair or replace any original equipment mechanical or electrical drive train component including engine, transmission and front or rear drive axles that fails to perform as manufactured. This coverage only applies to components lubricated by engine oil, transmission or axle fluid.
