If this is your first time shopping for a used car, you’ve probably heard the cautionary tales of what to watch out for. You may have heard—too—that shipping from a name-brand retailer like Ravenel Ford takes any questions about quality, reliability, and whether or not maintenance records will be available off the table. If so, you already have your best foot forward. Now, it’s time to find more than a new-to-you car, truck, or SUV, but the savings to go with it!
Some customers shop for a used car for financial reasons, while others prefer older model year vehicles, or ones that are already broken in. On our pre-owned vehicle specials page, you have the chance to find any number of options that could fit the bill. Like the rest of our used cars, every one has been inspected for quality and reliability by our OEM-certified technicians, and records of previous maintenance and owners are on hand.
With that knowledge in hand, you can now peruse our selections with conviction. But highlighting the most competitively-priced models often means that they don’t stick around on our specials page for too long. Don’t think of it as potentially missing an opportunity. There are a lot more where that came from—and once one used special is sold, we replace it with another.
The New Year is practically on our door-step, too, so we imagine that many South Carolina drivers are considering their next vehicle purchase. Why not think about ways you can save yourself some money for the year ahead? Even if you can’t find a pre-owned special, our financing experts can still work their magic to find a way. It all starts when you fill out our credit application. By the time you arrive at our showroom for your test drive, we’ll already have everything we need to get the ball rolling on your loan.
Our Ford dealership in Ravenel, SC offers more than savings on our used inventory, but a one-stop-shop for all of your automotive needs. That opportunity has brought numerous customers from Charleston, Johns Island, SC, and Walterboro to our showroom door over the years, and we look forward to welcome you in the same way!
Get Acquainted With, and Save on the 2018 Motor Trend “Truck of the Year” at Ravenel Ford!
When the availability of the vehicle you want or living in an area with no dealerships nearby forces you to look outside of your comfort zone, you deserve to know it’ll be worth the effort. In that vein, we have good news for customers browsing our inventory from Johns Island and elsewhere: Ravenel Ford is home to this year’s Motor Trend “Truck of the Year,” the 2018 Ford F-150!
For those who may be unfamiliar with this truck’s reputation, the F-150 has been America’s favorite for over forty years. But in the last few years, its status as a cultural icon and work-horse among half-ton pickups has expanded thanks to the use of military-grade aluminum alloy skin, and a high-strength, fully-boxed steel frame—which saved 700 lbs. over the outgoing generation of truck when it launched in 2015.
But even that diet—while certainly catching Motor Trend’s attention—didn’t net the F-150 the award the year of its launch. So why is this truck winning such acclaim now? Because the mid-cycle refresh the 2018 F-150 represents launched it so far ahead of the competition that no other half-ton truck comes close.
The 2018 model year saw the F-150 adapt six unique grille designs for every model, a new ten-speed automatic transmission option on every powertrain, and updates to the full range of engines. Two new mills join the fold—a new base 3.3-liter V6 with 290 horsepower, and a 3.0-liter PowerStroke turbodiesel V6 that will join the lineup next spring. That engine is said to best the already best-in-class capability of the F-150, which currently offers the segment benchmarks of 13,200 lbs. max towing, 3,270 lbs. max payload, and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Yet Motor Trend doesn’t award models for being the best at everything, and what really hit home for them was Ford’s attention to detail on every level. For example, one might expect a base engine to be a slouch, but the new 3.3-liter V6’s smooth acceleration and ability to tow 5,000 lbs. without sweat impressed them. A Lariat truck with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost—now home to 400 lb-ft of torque and 325 horsepower—evoked similar reactions.
Proud as we are to offer the 2018 “Truck of the Year” at our Ford dealership in Ravenel, SC, having a truck that gets the job done without sweating the details is nothing along with the buying experience to match. In addition to the built-in savings our credit experts will work into your lease or loan agreement, you will also discover that America’s favorite truck can be acquired with no closing costs at the time of sale, and a price only $98 above invoice!

A lot of Ford models have been making headlines in 2017, from the new F-150 to the returning Bronco and Ranger. All of these models have their place in the pantheon of automotive history, but for our customers—particularly those who might come to us from outside our locale—a time-tested reputation is only one part of what makes a car like the 2018 Mustang GT so special.
This year also marks the half-way point of the pony car’s sixth generation, which meant a refresh was in order. But Ford didn’t cut any corners in keeping this already-modern Mustang current. They updated the exterior design for style and aerodynamics, while updating the engine lineup and adding new features.
On the 2018 Mustang GT, packing a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with new parts, the sum of these updates are easy to glean. Now putting out 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, the GT is faster than ever. But thanks to a few key additions to the optional equipment list, it can be made even nimbler.
When once replaces the standard six-speed manual transmission with the new ten-speed automatic, add on the GT Performance Package, and the new MagneRide Damping suspension borrowed from the GT350, the 2018 Mustang GT can hit sixty in under four seconds. Part of that is due to the automatic gear box’s quicker shifts, but also owed to the more aggressive chassis tuning and cornering bite of the added equipment. Even without these options, every GT gets Drag Strip Mode, which puts peak torque under your foot from the moment you step on the gas up to the red line.
Other options are on tap to make your Mustang GT more you. Those in residential areas will love the Active Valve Performance Exhaust, which lets you modulate the Coyote’s roar into a more in-door appropriate voice with “Quiet Mode.” This lowers the engine noise to the decibel of your average dishwasher. The Shaker Pro Audio group is another add-on performance enthusiasts will love—not only does it front a great audio system, but gets a full-color digital LCD display with options to view and store track stats on the fly.But iconic muscle with no shortage of modern flair and zest is just a sampling of what you’ll find at our Ford dealership in Ravenel, SC. Even beyond our transparent, customer-focused dealership experience, those looking for a good deal on the demanded 2018 Mustang may be surprised to find models listed at just $98 above invoice, with none of the expected closing costs at time of sale. Some call it sorcery. Others look for a catch. But for those coming from Walterboro and further for their vehicular needs, it’s part of what makes acquiring your car from Ravenel Ford worth it.
